11:30 – 1:30 | Graceland University Independence | $25 (includes lunch)
Building a team is a vital skill for leaders to possess, but it is not a simple process, it is a skill that needs to be developed and honed. An organization does not just want teams it wants effective teams that reach outcomes.
According to Leigh Thomson in Making the Team (2008), “Leading an effective team involves two sets of responsibilities:
1. Managing the internal dynamics of the team itself -– specifying the task, selecting the members and facilitating the team process; and
2. Managing the external dynamics of the team – navigating the organizational environment and managing the relationships with those on whom the team is interdependent.”
Attendees will learn the basic skills necessary to build, manage and grow effective teams so they can successfully work toward a common goal.
